Designed as part of a hypothetical hotel located in the Bukhansan National Park just outside of Seoul, South Korea; this lounge bar is intended to attract young adults working in the city of Seoul. South Korea is known to have a “pressure-cooker” work culture, where the average office employee works about 2000 hours a year, almost twice as much as an employee in North America.  Aiming to create a relaxing and fun atmosphere within its space, the lounge is equipped with a sound-proofed karaoke room and a courtyard. The aesthetics of the lounge and courtyard have resulted from the color pallet and forms found in the Bukhansan National Park as well as Korean traditional window patterns. The black mirrored glass creates a strong contrast against the dominating pale colors. The entrance to the karaoke room is marked by a blown-up Batman comic print (no significance lays behind the choice - just a comical, fun touch).

Currently a furniture store wedged between condominium towers, this project proposes to transform the building into a multi-use space with a roller blading arena and a cafe.
